BOOK IT!® ALUMNI “PIZZA FOR A YEAR” SWEEPSTAKES

OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.  A PURCHASE DOES NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

1. Eligibility: Entrant must be a legal U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age as of September 30, 2008 residing in the 48 continental U.S. States (and D.C.).  Employees of Pizza Hut, Inc. (“PHI” or “Sponsor”), PHI’s parent, subsidiaries, affiliated companies, franchisees and agents and the immediate family (defined as parents, spouse, children, siblings, grandparents) of each such employees, and all those with whom such employees are domiciled, are NOT eligible.

2. Timing: Sweepstakes begins at 7:00 p.m. C.T. on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 and ends at 12:01:01 a.m. C.T. on Wednesday, December 31, 2008.

3. How to Enter: Visit http://bookitprogram.com/alumni/pizzasweepsform.asp, complete the entry form and upload a photo or video of you with your BOOK IT! award (then or now) and you will be automatically entered in the Sweepstakes. Individuals may enter this Sweepstakes by submitting the form only once. More than one entry from any person or e-mail address will be void.
Video and Photo Submission Guidelines (collectively “Submissions”): The following guidelines are applicable to both videos and photos, as applicable.  Video submissions must be less than two (2) minutes in length.  Submissions must be the original work of the person who registered and created and uploaded the video.  Entrant must be the sole owner of the copyright of any video he or she submits.  By entering a Submission, each entrant guarantees that he or she is the author and copyright holder of the Submission.  Sponsor will not assist any entrant with the development or production of a Submission.  In addition, by entering, each entrant represents and warrants that Submission does not infringe any other person’s or entity’s rights.  Submission must not contain any unauthorized third-party owned material, including, but not limited to, trademarks, logos, background music, depictions of actors and the like.  Additionally, entrant represents and warrants that he or she will not have and will not acquire any trademark rights, copyrights, or any other rights in or to Sponsor’s trademarks, trade names, logos or other intellectual property.  Sponsor specifically reserves all its rights to protect its intellectual property against any infringement or other illegal or improper use.
For all Submissions:  Submissions which are deemed inappropriate, indecent, obscene, or disparaging of the Sponsor, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, will be disqualified.  Proof of submission or sending is not proof of receipt by Sponsor.  All Submissions become the exclusive property of Sponsor and none will be acknowledged or returned.  Sponsor shall have the right to edit, adapt and publish any or all of the Submissions, and may use them in any media in association with the Sweepstakes without attribution or compensation to the entrant, his/her successors or assigns, or any other entity unless prohibited by law.  Entry of a Submission in this Sweepstakes constitutes entrant’s irrevocable assignment, conveyance, and transference to Sponsor of all right, title, and interest in the Submission, including, without limitation, all copyrights.  Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, illegible, or misdirected Submissions, which are void.

4. Random Drawing: This Sweepstakes will have one (1) monthly drawing for (3) months with one (1) winner from each drawing. Total value of all prizes valued at $1,797. Each entrant selected as a potential winner must comply with all terms and conditions set forth in these Official Rules, and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all such requirements. For each prize, a potential winner will be selected in a random drawing from all entries received. The drawing will take place on the last business day of the months of October through December. Sponsor’s decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Potential winners will be notified by e-mail within  three (3) business days of the drawing and the prize will be mailed within three (3) weeks after confirmation of the potential winner’s eligibility and mailing address.  If a potential winner cannot be contacted within seven (7) days after the first attempt to contact such potential winner, an alternate entrant will be selected in his or her place at random from all entries received for the applicable week. All prizes will be distributed by January 30, 2009.

5. Prizes: The following prizes will be awarded: Winners will receive one years worth of free pizza in the form of one (1) $599.00 Pizza Hut® Gift Card. The Pizza Hut Gift Card is subject to the thereupon stated terms and conditions. Sponsor is not responsible for lost or mutilated prizes and none will be replaced. Prize is nontransferable and must be accepted as awarded. No cash or other substitution may be made, except at Sponsor’s sole discretion, in which case, Sponsor will provide a prize of equal or greater value. All taxes, fees and surcharges on prizes are the sole responsibility of winner.

6. Other Terms and Conditions: Potential winners may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release, and where lawful, a Publicity Release, within fourteen (14) days of notification, failing which the potential winner will be disqualified and another winner selected in the place of the disqualified person at random from all eligible entries received. If any prize or prize notification is returned as non-deliverable, the potential winner will be disqualified and another potential winner will be selected in the original potential winner’s place. By accepting the prize, the winner agrees that the Sponsor and those acting under Sponsor’s authority, may use winner’s name, picture/portrait likeness and/or voice, for advertising and promotional purposes without further consideration, unless prohibited by law. BY ACCEPTING THE PRIZE, THE WINNER AGREES THAT PIZZA HUT, INC., ITS SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, FRANCHISEES, ADVERTISING AND PROMOTION AGENCIES, AND ALL OF THE FOREGOING PARTIES’ OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES AND AGENTS, WILL HAVE NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR, AND WILL BE HELD HARMLESS BY WINNER FOR ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURY, LOSS OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND TO PERSONS, INCLUDING DEATH, AND PROPERTY, DUE IN WHOLE OR IN PART, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, FROM THE ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, USE OR MISUSE OF THE PRIZE OR PARTICIPATION IN THIS SWEEPSTAKES OR PARTICIPATION IN ANY SWEEPSTAKES OR PRIZE RELATED ACTIVITY.

Sweepstakes subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.

7. Miscellaneous: All entries become the sole property of Sponsor and none will be returned. In the event of a dispute, entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. The "authorized account holder" is deemed the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, service provider or other online organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. A potential winner may be requested to provide Sponsor with proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the winning entry. If for any reason the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure, human error or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, any combination thereof, or otherwise, including any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the Sweepstakes. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, illegible, incomplete, stolen, or misdirected entries. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, PRIMEDIA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
