More than a coupon

Oh, the anticipation! There is nothing more gratifying than waiting for your very own one-topping, Personal Pan Pizza from Pizza Hut. This is especially true when it was earned by reaching a reading goal. The BOOK IT! Reading Award Certificate is more than just a coupon. It’s a tangible high-five, fist-bumping moment to celebrate when a child reads their heart out. It reinforces the positive nature of reading and keeps them motivated to not only read more, but to make sure that reading stays fun!


Oh, the weather outside is frightful! Or it might be at some point this winter. Do you have plans set aside for things to do when there’s four feet of snow outside (we’re looking at you Buffalo, NY) your front door? Here are five activities that will keep your kids busy. Be sure to read the book that goes along with each, and for extra learning opportunities, complete the Before, During and After sections.

We’re now in month three of the BOOK IT! Program! Time for a refresher and a renewal of your dedication to reading your hearts out this year. This time, though, we’re going to double-dog dare you to make reading a part of your reading resolution. The minutes read outside of school are what make the difference. Promise to read to or with your kids daily for at least 20 minutes each day. Take the Parent Pledge, download and print this fridge reminder and read your heart out in 2015!
