Camp BOOK IT!
All of July we will be featuring fantasy books for our campers! We may not all be able to take a vacation this summer, but we can travel anywhere in our imaginations!
For our younger campers, we have The Fairy Dogmother. After reading this sweet tale, use our Fantasy Story Cards to create your own adventure! Cut them out and have your kids place them in any order they wish to tell a story. This is a great chance to explain that stories have a beginning, middle, end, settings and characters. Let their imaginations run free!
If your students are third grade and up, take a look at The Boy, The Wolf, and The Stars, then have them try their hand at writing their own fantasy story.

Imagine you and a friend are on this ship in the picture. Where are you going? What are you searching for? Are you in the ocean on another planet? Flying through space? On your way to save someone or find a hidden treasure? Explore your imagination by writing down your own epic tale based on this image.
