About The Book

This book explains the origin of a simple design that became a beloved symbol. Created by Gerald Holtom to use in a protest march against nuclear weapons in 1958, this simple geometric design caught on and has been used around the globe. It has appeared throughout the Black Civil Rights, Women's Rights, environmental, LGBTQ+ Rights movements as well as countless others.
