We're excited to be part of your family's reading journey! The BOOK IT! App makes it fun and easy to encourage a love of reading by tracking your child's reading progress, celebrating achievements, and earning FREE Personal Pan Pizza® rewards during eligible program months. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to get started and enjoy the full BOOK IT! experience.
📱 About the App
The Pizza Hut BOOK IT! App helps you track your child's reading progress and celebrate their achievement with a FREE Personal Pan Pizza® reward when they reach their monthly reading goal.
📚 About BOOK IT!® Programs
BOOK IT!® offers two programs for children in Pre-K through 6th grade:
- School Program (Teachers/Homeschool Teachers): October 1 – March 31
- Summer Program (Parents – Summer of Stories™): June 1 – August 31
During program months, your child can earn one FREE Personal Pan Pizza® reward each month by meeting their monthly reading goal.* The FREE Personal Pan Pizza® reward celebrates your child's achievement, but the biggest reward is helping them develop a lifelong love of reading!
*Up to 5 children per family may be enrolled, one reward per child per month. One certificate per student per visit may be redeemed.
⭐ What You Can Do in the App
- Edit child's name, grade, and reading goal
- Track daily reading progress with a 7 day grace period
- Claim and redeem monthly rewards
- Manage up to 5 children in one account
Choose the account you already use

| Parent using an iPhone or iPad | Use the Apple sign-in associated with your BOOK IT! account. |
| Parent using Android | Use the Google sign-in associated with your BOOK IT! account. |
| Returning on another device | Use your existing account. If your readers are missing, contact support before creating another enrollment. |
| Classroom teacher | Use teacher sign-in on bookitprogram.com to manage classrooms. |
| Homeschool parent | Use the app for reading and rewards, and follow the homeschool enrollment instructions. |
Returning to an existing account
- On the welcome screen, choose Find my existing account.
- Enter the email previously used for BOOK IT! and choose Send code. The code expires after 10 minutes.
- Enter the six-digit code from the newest email. If it is incorrect, expired, or already used, request a new code and use only the newest message.
- Choose the account whose children and reading progress you recognize. Read the proposed result before confirming any change.
Existing-account recovery
Scroll the table sideways to see all columns.

| Incorrect, expired, or used code | Check that you entered six digits from the newest email. Request another code after the countdown if needed. |
| No active accounts use this email | Choose Use a different email and try the address used when the family was enrolled. Contact support if you cannot identify it. |
| Cannot access this inbox | Choose Get help. Do not create a second family only because the old inbox is unavailable. |
| More than one account | Compare the children and reading progress. Choose the account you recognize and review the resolution before confirming. |
| Connection problem | Keep the screen open, restore the connection, and retry. A connection failure does not mean the account is missing. |
🚀 Getting Started
- Download the App
Download the BOOK IT!® app in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. - Ready to turn reading into rewards? 🍕📚
📍 Create Your Account
- Open the app and tap "I AM A PARENT"
- Sign in to use your Apple or Google account.
- If you need additional assistance on how to register or information about BOOK IT click on the links for How to Register and How BOOK IT works
- Review and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
📊 Enroll in Summer of Stories
1. 👨👩👧👦 Add number of participating children.
- Select how many children will participate and click Continue.
⚠️ Important: Double-check the number of participating children once enrolled this cannot be changed.
- Register each child:
- Name or nickname
- Grade
- Daily reading goal
- Fun character icon
- Confirm all children details before continuing. After enrollment, you can edit your child's details, but you cannot change the number of participating children. Then click Continue.
2. Finish Enrollment
- Enter your information (name, email, zip code),
- Opt in to receive BOOK IT! news and announcements and agree to terms of service and privacy policy.
- Important: Keep the app open while checking your email for the verification code. Closing the app will restart enrollment.
Starting on June 1st, you're ready to start tracking reading! 🎉
Tracking Reading & Redeeming Rewards (reading, rewards, inbox tabs) 🍕
📖 Reading Tab
Your Child's Reading Log:
We encourage children to read all month. To earn the reward, your child must read at least 15 days, and those reading days must be marked complete in the app Reading Tracker.
❤️ Reading Tip: Celebrate every reading milestone, Make reading part of your daily routine. Whether it's bedtime stories, independent reading, or reading together as a family, consistency helps create lasting reading habits
From the Reading Tab, you can:
- Check reading goal progress at a glance
- Tap the calendar or tap Track Reading to mark reading days complete.
- See how many days are left to reach monthly goal.
- Edit child's info including reading goal.

⏱ Tracking Tips
Mark reading days complete when your child meets the daily reading goal.
We know life gets busy! If you forget to log a completed reading day, you can go back up to 7 days to update the Reading Tracker. After 7 days, missed reading days cannot be added.
📅 Calendar Icons Made Simple
- Light Orange Star = Completed, but no longer editable
- Dark Orange Star = Completed and still editable (within 7 days)
- Purple Circle = Today (ready to mark complete)
- Clear Circle = Future date
👉 You can mark a day complete by tapping the date on the reading tracker, then tap Save and Close.
⏲ Optional Reading Timer
The Timer is an optional feature that can help children stay on track with their daily reading goal. Using the Timer is not required to participate or earn rewards.
The Timer does not automatically mark reading days complete. If your child meets the reading goal using the Timer, you must mark the day complete in the Reading Tracker for it to count toward the reward requirement.
- Use the built-in timer to track reading time
- Pause or reset anytime
- Get notified when your child reaches their goal
- Then simply mark the day as complete
🎉 When Goals Are Met
Once your child reaches their monthly goal, you'll see a celebration message (with music and a dancing pizza!) letting you know the goal was met!
🍕 Rewards Tab
In the Rewards tab, you can:
- View reward codes
- Check expiration dates
- See if a reward has been used
- If you need additional assistance on how to redeem rewards click on the link How to redeem rewards
How to claim Rewards:
When your child meets their monthly reading goal:
- Rewards can be claimed during the claim period: the 1st–15th of the month following the goal month
- Example: June rewards can be claimed July 1–15
- Rewards expire 30 days after they are claimed
⚠️ Rewards are not available during April, May, or September
Where to Redeem Rewards:
- In-store
- On the Pizza Hut app or website
Quick Steps to redeem in app or website:
- Open/Download the Pizza Hut App or visit pizzahut.com.
- Log into your Pizza Hut App Account and select Carryout or Delivery. If you select delivery, you must meet any applicable delivery minimums.
- Click the cart icon (bottom right in the app / top right on the website).
- Tap "Have a coupon code?" then enter the code in the Coupon Code box and click Apply.
- You will receive an alert: click it — it will say "Coupon Incomplete: Add a Personal Pan Pizza or Gluten Free pizza".
- Select Build Pizza on the one-topping Personal Pan Pizza you want, configure, and click Add to Cart.
- Complete your order and check out (code is already applied).
- Repeat for each code you are redeeming — remember, only 1 code per child per month can be redeemed.
- Add a Personal Pan Pizza® to your cart
- Complete your order

💡 Helpful Tip
If you reinstall the app or switch devices, you can restore your data.
Once restored, child profiles may appear as "Child 1," etc.—you can easily update their names.
